PARKWAY NEWS BRIEF EVENTS
Latest Event March 2025
Wind Advisory and Strong Winds in our neighborhood may cause tree limbs to break off and block the streets and sidewalks surrounding your property. Please safely remove the limbs and debris to dispose.
PROPERTY OWNER NEIGHBORHOOD TREE MAINTENANCE
Those dead trees are also extremely hazardous and a few have already fallen on the streets and sidewalks. Property owners are responsible for this occurrence to clear out the area affected (USE CAUTION IN REMOVAL). Also, a tree that is on your property line to the street curb (front, side or a street running along the back of your property) is your responsibility to maintain it, to remove and/or dispose. The City may also issue you a notice to maintain the tree’s overhanging branches that affect street or sidewalk passage or remove a dead tree which both may be subject to a fine. Remove them safely to prevent any casualty.

The Weeds are Coming Back
The four (4) Entryways along Ladera Dr are having a weed control applied to currently maintain the entryway’s landscape and on selected roadside/sidewalk gravel dirt areas on Parkway Dr and Woodbridge Rd.
• Maintenance care and weed control is applied on two (2) island areas on Tessa Dr. and Parkway Dr.
• Our volunteers are committed to currently keeping these areas presentable. Join us to be part of our Caretaker Team to make a difference in our neighborhood. Go to the Contact Page and join in.
• Use caution while walking your dog along these areas due to the weed control product.
• WEED CONTROL CARE •
• As a friendly reminder seasonal weed maintenance and weed pulling is a routine that we all have to contend with from those pesky weeds that invade our property. This is also a CITY ordinance to maintain and keep it under control. Please refer to the website below:
City Website: https://www.cabq.gov/planning/code-enforcement-zoning/nuisance-weed-removal
MAKE A DONATION FOR THE CURRENT UPKEEP
• A Donation total of $150.00 will cover the annual product costs to currently maintain the entryway areas. Please go to the Donation Page on the website and make your donation on PayPal. Or, if you prefer, contact the ParkwayNA Board by email to have a check sent to the Association. Several small donations should achieve this dollar amount to assist with the costs. Or, a generous donor will take care of it in total to cover for the rest of the year.
Thank you ALL!!

FAQ •What Can I Do About Barking Dogs?•
Dogs are wonderful pets that are part of the family. Many families have dogs in our community. However, there are times when dogs are left outside overnight or during the day and they bark for what seems like hour after hour.
What to do?
Remember to monitor your pet’s barking activity. This will keep your neighbors happy!
Also, be mindful that dogs may have the ability in jumping on or over property walls and fences. This can result to safety reporting issues from pedestrians on public sidewalks next to your property and from bicyclists on the street. ParkwayNA suggests doing what is necessary to effectively prevent this from happening.

Parkway from the early 1990’s to Present Day
Sivage-Thomas began building Parkway and Parkland View homes in 1991. A neighborhood association was not formed during the construction of the homes in the subdivision. A few years after the completion of the subdivision, Parkway Neighborhood Association (ParkwayNA) was formed by those interested in our community. Your ParkwayNA Board understands that by sharing information and staying connected, we can build a stronger community.
A common goal for the Association is to have available a place for a community voice, purpose and benefit. It is also to ensure the entryways have an appeal and to apply improvements for the purpose to enhance the image of the community when entering the subdivision. The cul-de-sac streets and the subdivision’s overall design, provide a neighborly feel. It is the desire of ParkwayNA to maintain it that way. Now that the City has landscaped Ladera Dr., the entryways into Parkway and Parkland View should be just as aesthetically pleasing.
We encourage every household to join and support our efforts. The membership is FREE with no monthly or annual membership dues. Click on the MEMBERSHIP page for your interest and SUBMIT your application. A Board member will be notified immediately.
