 LANDSCAPE PROJECT 2025
                                                          NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE
The landscape project front Entryway No.1 was completed on October 7th with new added stone gravel of Valley Gold and Grey Round.
•  ParkwayNA would like to thank the property owners for their time and contribution in entryway preparation to making this project a success.
Three sections and the mailbox island had the improvement enhancements made to this area entryway.
The middle island had a make over in distributing larger stones buried in the ground nearby for a border and thickening the larger stone existing areas. This was accomplished by digging up the larger stones and then re-distributing them.
Valley Gold was added underneath the marquis sign to add definition and contrast from the Grey Round stones.
•   Re-painted landscape timbers on both sides of the entryway.
The area with the large trees had a major clean out of green waste, trimming limbs, and branches.
Contact Parkway Neighborhood Association to currently maintain these entryways to keep these areas beautiful and presentable and not allow neglect and decline in appearance at anytime.

New Current Events for Winter 2026

ParkwayNA is looking forward to a Winter season in progress from all our association members and property residents at Parkway and Parkland View!
• We have those property owners who care about currently maintaining the subdivision entryways and common areas at Parkway Dr. and Parkland View Dr.
• And those who take a leisure walk in the neighborhood and pickup small items of trash lying on the ground that shouldn’t be there.

BTW, there’s less of this stuff and it is looking so much better throughout the neighborhood!!

Get Involved, it’s also your neighborhood to care about

Go to the Contact or Membership Page and sign up today. Let us know what you would like to do or suggest. It’s easy and quick. Our response rate is there for you.

• ParkwayNA will not inundate you with masses of email announcements. Only what’s necessary and relevant like zoom meetings and what’s happening announcements.
Most of the announcements are on this HOME Website Page. Refer to it monthly for any updates.
Parkway Point Newsletter- interesting reading about our community and surrounding area.
• The Board would like to thank you ALL to those for participating and making the neighborhood a great place to live!
As always contact us with your ideas and suggestions on the website’s CONTACT page.

                                                           CURRENT NEWS UPDATES!!
ParkwayNA has extended to post this information- thru March 2026
June 26, 2025
The City of Albuquerque Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) has voted to approve the removal of Trac B at the subject property and to have RioGAFA proceed towards their objective in developing a charter school at this site for their relocation.

ParkwayNA attended this meeting and will continue to have the charter school information available on the HOME page for as long as deemed necessary, for our community to catch-up and be in the know on what is happening nearby regarding the planned development.                                                                                ____________________________________________________________________________________________
•The updates and most of the attachments are received from Laurelwood Neighborhood Association. The information is from various sources provided to Laurelwood NA. Laurelwood subdivision is located at Ladera Dr. & Laurelwood Pkwy. This site location is also across the street on Unser Blvd. NW from Parkway and Parkland View subdivisions.

Update: There is a plan on building a Charter School at 1700 Unser Blvd. NW, a vacant property south of the Neighborhood Walmart store and is located at the corner of Market St. and Hanover Rd.

Update: The Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) recommended approval for a Major Amendment Zone change to remove “Trac B” vacant land next to Walmart from the Heritage Marketplace Site Plan so that Rio Academy of Fine Art (RioGAFA) will be able to build a school, and allow them to have one-thousand-one-hundred-forty-four Students (1144) plus Staff, no restrictions on building type,

Update: SP-2025-00041 Heritage Marketplace – Removal of Trac “B” from the Heritage Marketplace Site Plan that the Laurelwood Neighborhood Association (opposes the removal) because it will allow the Rio Grande Academy of Fine Arts (RioGAFA) to build a school for one-thousand-one-hundred-forty-four (1144) Students and Staff on the vacant lot south of the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Unser & Ladera. Please read, this is another perspective why the removal of trac B should not be approved.

FAQ •What Can I Do About Barking Dogs?

Many families have dogs in our community. However, there are times when dogs are left outside late at night, overnight or during the day and they bark for what seems like hour after hour.
                                                            What to do?
•Remember to monitor your pet’s barking activity. This will keep your neighbors happy!

•According to the city’s web-site, a dog must be a good neighbor1. A dog should be quiet unless there is a reason for barking. The dog should not bark or show aggressiveness at common distractions, such as nail hammering, a jogger running or a pedestrian taking a walk in the neighborhood .

•Also, be mindful that dogs may have the ability in jumping on or over property walls and fences. This can result to safety reporting issues from pedestrians on public sidewalks next to your property and from bicyclists on the street. ParkwayNA suggests doing what is necessary to effectively prevent this from happening. NMDOT Starting Construction on I-25 Corridor in August 2024
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin improving the Interstate 25 (I-25) corridor in Albuquerque between Comanche Road and Montgomery Boulevard, including the freeway, frontage roads, and interchanges.

Major construction is scheduled to begin in August 2024 and is anticipated to continue until spring 2027.

The project will improve safety and travel times for drivers now and in the future. Additionally, the aging bridges and pavements will be replaced, and barrier-separated shared-use paths will be added at the interchanges to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

To learn more about the improvements on this three-year project, please visit the project website at https://i25improved.com.

Parkway from the early 1990’s to Present Day

Sivage-Thomas began building Parkway and Parkland View homes in 1991. A neighborhood association was not formed during the construction of the homes in the subdivision. A few years after the completion of the subdivision, Parkway Neighborhood Association (ParkwayNA) was formed by those interested in our community. Your ParkwayNA Board understands that by sharing information and staying connected, we can build a stronger community.

A common goal for the Association is to have available a place for a community voice, purpose and benefit.  It is also to ensure the entryways have an appeal for the purpose to enhance the image of the community when entering the subdivision. The cul-de-sac streets and the subdivision’s overall design, provide a neighborly feel. It is the desire of ParkwayNA to maintain it that way. Now that the City has landscaped Ladera Dr., the entryways into Parkway and Parkland View should be just as aesthetically pleasing.

We encourage every household to join and support our efforts. The membership is FREE with no monthly or annual membership dues. Click on the MEMBERSHIP page for your interest and SUBMIT your application. A Board member will be notified immediately.
